The Big Island has more than 30 farmers markets spread across every part of the island. Most run one or two days a week, but there are enough of them that you can fit one into almost any day of your trip without going out of your way.
The range is wide. Hilo’s Farmers Market runs Wednesday and Saturday with over 150 vendors and is the largest on the island. At the other end you have small roadside farm stands you can browse in a few minutes. Most sell a mix of fresh produce, prepared food, and locally made goods.
A few things worth knowing before you go: many markets are cash-preferred or cash-only, parking at the Hilo market on busy days takes patience, and the hours below are advertised times — check social media or call ahead if you’re making a special trip.
