The Ka’u farmers market is held twice a week in the town of Na’alehu on highway 11 between Volcano village and Kona. Market days are Wednesday and Saturday from 8:00 AM to noon (12:00 PM), and you can find the market on the grounds of Shaka Restaurant.
Na’alehu farmers market is a small but a tasty stop if you are e.g. traveling between Kona and Volcano or on your way to Punalu’u black sand beach. You can find local made crafts, gifts, art, and clothing, and well as local beef, lamb, and eggs, vegetables and fruits.
If you are in Na’alehu, don’t forget to stop by the Punalu’u bake shop for some of its famous sweet bread or extremely tasty malasadas.
