The Ka’u farmers market is held twice a week in the town of Naalehu on highway 11 between Volcano village and Kona. Main market day is Wednesday from 8:00 AM to 2 PM, while a few vendors also show up on Saturdays. You can find the market in Front of Ace Hardware in Naalehu, Ka’u.
You can find delicious Mexican food, local made crafts, gifts, art, and clothing, as well as local beef, lamb, and eggs, vegetables and fruits. there is also a coffee truck (Flyin’ Hawaiian Coffee) parked near the market that serves the local Ka’u coffee and great espresso drinks.
The Naalehu farmers market is a small but a tasty stop if you are e.g. traveling between Kona and Volcano or if you are on your way to Punalu’u black sand beach. If you are in passing by you really also should have a look at our list of great things to do in the Kau District! The list includes a green sand and black sand beach, lava caves, good places to stop for a bite and more.
