Kauaʻi Farmers Markets and Night Markets: Days, Hours and Locations

By Gerrit van der Plas | updated October 9, 2026

As of October 2026, seven Kauaʻi farmers markets are open again after Hurricane Lowell, and between them they cover every day of the week except Friday. Grove Farm Market in Puhi and Anaina Hou in Kīlauea open on Saturday morning, and Anaina Hou opens again on Sunday. The other five meet on weekdays in Līhuʻe, Kapaʻa, Poʻipū and Waimea, mostly in the afternoon.

This page is for travelers fitting a market into a Kauaʻi itinerary, and for anyone on the island checking what’s open this week. Six listings, four of them on the North Shore, haven’t confirmed they’re running again since the storm, so check the organizer’s page, linked on each card, before you go.

Which markets have reopened after Hurricane Lowell

Seven markets in the finder are on the County of Kauaʻi’s reopening list, published September 30 and repeated October 6 and 7: Kukui Grove Pau Hana Market in Līhuʻe and Grove Farm Market in Puhi, Coconut Marketplace Farmers Market and Kapaʻa Sunshine Market on the East Side, Anaina Hou Community Park Farmers Market in Kīlauea, Kauai Culinary Market in Poʻipū, and Hale Puna Farmers’ Market in Waimea. The County’s list covers farmers markets only, not the night markets.

The six listings missing from it as of October 2026 are Waipā Farmers Market, Hanalei Farmers’ Market, the Princeville Farmers & Artists Market, Princeville Night Market, Downtown Līhuʻe Night Market and Hanapepe Art Night. Hanalei was among the hardest-hit areas of the island, and on September 22 the Waipā Foundation was running emergency food distribution.

Princeville Center’s calendar lists night markets on October 11, November 8 and December 13, 2026, and the center says events can be canceled without notice, so check its page the day before. For any of these six, check the organizer’s Facebook or Instagram page, linked on each card, before you drive.

Arrive early: most Kauaʻi markets last four hours or less

Every Kauaʻi market in the finder with a fixed closing time runs four hours or less. Kapaʻa Sunshine Market lasts 90 minutes, from 3 pm on Wednesdays, and the County advises arriving early for the best choice of produce. Its farmers sell mostly fruits, vegetables and herbs, plus fresh-cut coconut, honey, flowers, smoothies and juices, and Kauaʻi Made vendors bring eggs, local meat and baked goods.

Grove Farm Market opens at 9:30 am with a horn. Grove Farm says the vendors have left by 1 pm, and the County lists the market as running until supplies last, so arrive at 9:30 am.

For a longer food outing, our Kauaʻi culinary guide lists taro, pineapple, coffee and chocolate farm tours, plus food tours.

Questions about Kauaʻi’s farmers markets

Market names in these answers link to their listings, with the address and the organizer’s page.

Q: Which market should I pick if I only have time for one?

Anaina Hou Community Park Farmers Market in Kīlauea, if your day falls on a weekend. It’s the only market in the finder open on both Saturday and Sunday, with more than 30 vendors selling Kauaʻi-grown produce and Kauaʻi-made crafts, and the County lists it as reopened after Hurricane Lowell. If you’re staying near Līhuʻe, Grove Farm Market in Puhi is the closer Saturday market on the County’s list. In Poʻipū, Kauai Culinary Market meets on Wednesday afternoons.

Q: What’s open on weekdays?

Kukui Grove Pau Hana Market in Līhuʻe meets on Monday afternoons. Coconut Marketplace Farmers Market runs Tuesday and Thursday mornings on the East Side, and Waipā Farmers Market meets Tuesday afternoons on the North Shore, though Waipā isn’t on the County’s reopening list as of October 2026. On Wednesday afternoons, Kapaʻa Sunshine Market and Kauai Culinary Market in Poʻipū both meet, and Hale Puna Farmers’ Market in Waimea is the only market on Thursday afternoons. Friday has no farmers market. Hanapepe Art Night runs that evening.

Q: Is the Princeville Saturday market running again?

Not confirmed since Hurricane Lowell. The Princeville Farmers & Artists Market reopened at Prince Albert Park on Saturday, August 1, 2026, after the County shut it in January 2025 over zoning and Kauaʻi County Bill 2951 allowed markets in residential zones. It isn’t on the County’s reopening list as of October 2026, so check its Instagram before you go.

Q: How are the night markets different from the farmers markets?

The finder has three evening events. Downtown Līhuʻe Night Market (second Saturday of the month) and Princeville Night Market (second Sunday) both advertise food trucks and live music, and Princeville Center lists 30 to 40-plus artisans for its market. Hanapepe Art Night is a Friday-evening gallery night on Hanapēpē Road with craft booths and food trucks, and no produce. For produce on the West Side, go to Hale Puna’s Thursday market in Waimea.

Q: Can I take market fruit home to the mainland?

Mostly not. The USDA restricts most fresh fruit and vegetables going from Hawaiʻi to the mainland and Alaska, and you present all food and plants to the USDA inspector at the airport before you leave. Whole pineapple and coconut are allowed after inspection. Most other fresh fruit is allowed only if a USDA-approved facility treated it and packed it in sealed, stamped boxes, so eat your market fruit on Kauaʻi. The USDA page for travelers leaving Hawaiʻi lists the exceptions, and the USDA’s Kauaʻi office is at 808-632-2511.

Q: Does the Open today button show holiday and weather closures?

No. The button follows each market’s regular schedule, so it still shows a market as open on a holiday or a bad-weather day. Hale Puna Farmers’ Market closes on Thanksgiving and Christmas. The County closes Kapaʻa Sunshine Market in bad weather, as it did on December 17, 2025, and March 11, 2026. The County’s Office of Economic Development runs Kapaʻa Sunshine Market, and the office’s number is 808-241-4946.

We checked each listing against the organizer’s own website or social page, the County of Kauaʻi’s Hurricane Lowell recovery bulletins, the Kauaʻi County Farm Bureau, local news and Google Maps on October 7, 2026, and re-checked them on October 8.
