The Big Island is home to some of the most stunning waterfalls in the state of Hawaiʻi. Some of these waterfalls are easy to visit yourself (for example the Rainbow Falls and the ʻAkaka Falls, see our complete list of waterfalls), but the most spectacular ones are hidden away in difficult to reach windward valleys that are carved deep into the side of the Kohala volcano.
Departing from the Kona Airport this helicopter tour and takes you on a 75 minutes ride along the spectacular waterfalls with vertical drops of up to 1500 to 2000 ft. in the 7 windward valleys of Kohala.
The first valley you will see is Waipiʻo Valley, after which you keep moving westwards (to the right in the picture above) to Waimanu Valley, Honopue, Honokea, Honokane Iki, Honokane Nui, and Pololu Valley. Sometimes dipping down in the valley, you will see some of the most spectacular hidden sights the the Big Island offers!
Your tour ends with a beautiful coastline flight over sparkling ocean waters, ancient lava flows, and some of the prettiest white sand beaches the Kona coast has to offer (Kua Bay, Makalawena).
This is a private tour (best for groups of 3 or 4 people)
