What this calculator does
Prices in Hawaiʻi swing by island and by month, and a Kohala Coast hotel and a Hilo rental sit at opposite ends of the range. This calculator builds a number from your dates, your group size, and the islands you’re visiting, priced with Hawaiʻi Tourism Authority rate data, in under 3 minutes. You see the on-screen estimate without entering an email.
Where the numbers come from
We pull hotel rates, car rental costs, food budgets and tour spending from Hawaiʻi Tourism Authority data, by island and by month, then project them forward on multi-year trends. The result is what a trip costs in your travel year, not in the year the survey ran.
For timing, we add three decades of NOAA weather normals and official monthly visitor counts, so you can see what your month usually costs and how busy it gets. We live here and lead trips here. We know where the published averages mislead, and where you can cut a cost without missing much.

Q: How is this different from other travel calculators?
Most travel cost tools apply generic national averages. Ours uses Hawaiʻi-specific pricing data, broken down by your islands, travel style, and group size, then projects it to your travel dates.
Q: Can I compare different itineraries?

Q: Does the estimate include flights to Hawaiʻi?
No. Airfare from the mainland depends on your departure city and how far ahead you book, so a single number would mislead more than help. Add your own flight quote on top. Flights between the islands you selected are included.
Q: Why do you ask for nights instead of days?
Each night counts as a full day of costs, from roughly noon to noon. A trip with 15 nights is priced as 15 on-island days, even though it spans 16 calendar days.
