7 Tour Highlights:
- Paddle our canoe to Turtletown off Wailea Point to see honu (Hawaiian green sea turtles) and, on some trips, honuʻea (hawksbill turtles).
- Take in the breathtaking views of Haleakala, West Maui Mountains, Lana‘i, Kaho‘olawe/Kanaloa, and Molokini!
- Swim with the turtles if you’d like or watch as they swim alongside the canoe!
- Learn the culture, art and sport of canoe paddling and how Polynesian voyagers navigated without instruments.
- Learn about the Polynesian Voyagers as they sailed the Polynesian Triangle (New Zealand to Rapa Nui to Hawaii) using Celestial navigation/wayfinding.
- Participate in traditional Hawaiian Chants (called “Oli”) as you paddle our canoe (hoe wa’a, in Hawaiian) along the south coast of Maui.
- Families with kids ages 5 and up can join.
Important: Travelers should have a moderate physical fitness level - you must be able to paddle a minimum of a half mile

You paddle an outrigger canoe off Wailea Point to Turtletown and learn Hawaiian history and traditions on the way. The turtles there are honu and honuʻea (Hawaiian green sea and hawksbill turtles), and you can get close to them from the canoe. Bring swimwear if you want to get in the water and swim alongside them.

- Waterproof bag for your belongings – Belongings carried inside a canoe can get wet.
