The Laupahoehoe Farmer’s Market is a project supported by the Laupahoehoe Train Museum begun in 2009 by two enterprising young women. Sunday is market day, and they are open from 09:00 am to 01:00 pm. The market has a variety of produce and crafts as well as the best coffee and crepes on the coast.
You can find the laupahoehoe farmers market in Laupahoehoe next to the Minit Stop on Hwy. 19, a couple of 100 ft east of the Laupahoehoe train museum. You could try to fit a visit to this farmers market into a drive up the scenic Hamakua coast from Hilo towards Waipio valley, and stop here for breakfast or early lunch.
